The formation of snow is an exothermic process, it releases heat. Snow forms when ice crystals stick together and become heavy enough to fall to the ground. However, in order for these ice crystals to form, the system would have had to release its internal heat into the environment, which is what happens when its surroundings are colder than the internal temperatures.
Meanwhile, the process of cooking an egg is endothermic. This means that the egg absorbs heat from its surroundings. The transfer of heat is always in order to create a balance of temperatures. The egg is colder than the boiling water in which it is cooked, therefore it will absorb heat from the water in an endothermic process.
