Step-by-step explanation:

1- 5/2+15/8

80/16+240/16

320/16

Step-by-step explanation:

I am going to show you an example with the first question, and you will apply it on the rest on your own ^^

Step 1:

convert the mixed number fractions into improper fractions:

To do that you need to multiply the whole Number by the denomiator and add it to the numerator.

[tex]2\frac{1}{2}[/tex]+[tex]1\frac{7}{8}[/tex]= [tex]\frac{5}{2}[/tex]+[tex]\frac{15}{8}[/tex]

Step 2:

Now you want the denominators of both fraction to be equal so that you can add them:

[tex]\frac{5x4=20}{2x4=8}[/tex] + [tex]\frac{15}{8}[/tex]

Step 3:

Add.

=[tex]\frac{20}{8}[/tex]+[tex]\frac{15}{8}[/tex]

=[tex]\frac{35}{8}[/tex]

Step 4:

Turn the improper fraction back to a mixed number fraction:

[tex]\frac{35}{8}=4\frac{3}{8}[/tex]

There it is!

Bonus information:

For adding or subtracting fractions, you need a common denominato.

For multiplying fractions you do not need a common denominator, just mutiply the numerators together and the denominators together.

For dividing fraction, you do Not need a common denominator either. Just switch the two parts of the second fraction (so the numerator goes in the place of the denominator and vice versa) and multiply the two fractions!

I really hope this helped ;)
