Kin relationships include all the relationships based on:
- Marriage: For example your in-laws or spouse
- Blood: For example, your siblings or grandparents
These relationships are affected by different aspects such as differences in customs, social status, among others. One of the aspects that most causes conflicts within families is property, this includes:
- Residence: A person or group of people living in a specific property
- Inheritance: A property being transferred from one person to another usually after the person dies
- Succession: All properties of a person being transferred to others after death

- Conflicts of interests and expectations from different family members
- Different opinions about how the properties of someone who died should be divided between the heirs.
