A shopkeeper bought wheat for Rs. 35000. Due to leakage in the godown 1/7 of the total wheat was spoiled. He sold the good wheat at a gain of 10% and the spoiled wheat at a loss of 25%. Find his total gain or loss per cent.

Respuesta :

Price of spoiled wheat=

[tex]\\ \sf\longmapsto 35000\times \dfrac{1}{7}[/tex]

[tex]\\ \sf\longmapsto 5000[/tex]

  • Good wheat cost price=35000-5000=Rs 30000

He sold good wheat at a gain of 10%

[tex]\\ \sf\longmapsto Gain=\dfrac{10}{100}\times 30000[/tex]

[tex]\\ \sf\longmapsto Gain=3000[/tex]

Now

[tex]\\ \sf\longmapsto Sold\:Price=30000+3000=\boxed{\bf{33000}}[/tex]

  • He sold spoiled wheat at a loss of 25%

[tex]\\ \sf\longmapsto Loss=\dfrac{25}{100}\times 5000[/tex]

[tex]\\ \sf\longmapsto 1250[/tex]

Now

[tex]\\ \sf\longmapsto Sold\: Price=5000-1250=\boxed{\bf{3750}}[/tex]

Total SP:-33000+3750=36750

  • He got a gain

[tex]\\ \sf\longmapsto Gain\%=\dfrac{36750-35000}{35000}\times 100[/tex]

[tex]\\ \sf\longmapsto Gain\%=\dfrac{1750}{350}[/tex]

[tex]\\ \sf\longmapsto Gain\%=5\%[/tex]
