Kunitz, the speaker of this poems uses abandoned camp sites to describe what he created and left behind to move on in life he says “and the slow Fretrail from (them)” line 13.To show the complicity of leaving beautiful memories behind and moving forward. The second image the author says ”no doubt the next chapter in my book of transformation.”This piece of imagery is showing that the author is haunted by the past but trying to move forward with his life “new chapter”of his life.
