The Preamble to the Constitution begins with the words “We the People.” This collective “we” did not extend to the right to vote for women, African Americans or Native Americans. How has this omission affected Constitutional history in the United States? Which, if any, of the 27 amendments to the Constitution took care of this situation?

Respuesta :

There were first and second class citizens.

14th and 15th amendments got African American men the right to vote
19th amendment got women the right to vote.

I hope my answer has come to your help. God bless and have a nice day ahead!

14th (July 9, 1868) - Defined what it means to be a US citizen. It prohibits states from reducing the privileges of citizens and ensures each citizen the 'right to due process and the equal protection of the law'.

15th (February 3, 1870) - Gave all men the right to vote regardless of race or color or whether they had been slaves.

19th (August 18, 1920) - The 19th amendment gave women the right to vote. It's also called women's suffrage.
