Although the first new deal helped shorten the length of the great depression in the 1930s, it had some weaknesses which includes:
The new deal did not benefit everyone, even though it helped shorten the length of the great depression. Men were paid more wages than women and the amount which was paid to black women were way lesser.
There were still discriminatory activities going on then, African Americans only got basic jobs unlike their white counterparts who got better jobs.
So basically the first new deal tried in the aspect of restoring economic activities but failed in the aspect of improving lives.
