Classical and Alternatives Structures are structures of auto-immune response in the body.
The key difference between the Classical and the Alternative structures is that the classical is dependent on the antibody.
The Classical Pathway is ignited by the formation of a soluble antibody-antigen complex. It may also be ignited when the antigen on the target cell surface binds to the antibody.
Alternative Pathway on the other hand does not depend on the antibody. It rather is triggered ignited directly by the antigen. Examples of antigens that can trigger the alternative pathway are allergens, substances such as bacteria on the surface of cells, toxins, etc.
Antigens are substances that trigger the immune response system upon the detection of foreign substances.
