I believe this because I think that she took time to get over the attraction when she kept telling her husband that she did not want Gouvernail to visit again. As she stated she viewed herself as a "respectable woman". So it is possible that maybe she wanted to have Gouvernail over again to prove to herself that she could stay at home without having impulses and without acting upon them. One thing that goes against my thoughts is the last line, "This time I shall be very nice to him". You could take that two ways, the first being that she will not be rude and still not give into impulses. Or not be rude, but the impulses, might not be controlled."
