A submarine traveling 200 meters below the surface of the ocean increases its depth by 45 meters. Adam says that the new location of the submarine is -155 meters. Describe an error Adam could have made that would result in the answer he gave.

A submarine  is a watercraft capable of independent operation underwater.

The error made by Adam is of 400 meters.

Initial location of submarine is 200 meters below the surface of ocean.

When depth is increases by 45 meters.

Then new location of submarine is 200 + 45 = 245 meters below the surface of ocean.

but Adam says that the new location of the submarine is -155 meters

So, Error made by Adam is,    245 - (- 155) = 245 + 155

                                                                     = 400 meters
