The law that suggest older rock strata are at the bottom, and younger rock strata are at the top is: law of superposition

According to the law of superposition, rocks are created from the accumulation of various elements in the environment and When younger rock is formed it would come up on top of the older rocks.  Many archaeologists use this law of superposition as a dating system to determine the age of their archaeological findings.
