Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

a)-x-5

b)-5y-16

c)6x^2+7x+3

d)7m^2+5m

e)-2k+4

f)u^2-6

a)2ab+4b^2+1-3b

b)5m^2+n^2-1

but for future try to learn this topic it will be very important for you next year, probably you are grade 9-10 algebra now in 11 you will use it a lot and also similar questions

Also mark brainlest if its not  hard ^)

Simplifying is about combing like terms.  Just like you cannot combine $4 with 7 inches, you cannot combine 4x with 7y.

The variables (or lack of variables) and their powers identify like terms.

8a)  In 3x - 8 - 4x + 3, the 3x and -4x are like term, while the -8 and the 3 are like terms, so they can be combined.

    3x - 8 - 4x + 3 = -x - 5

8b) y - 9 - 7 - 6y = -5y - 16

because y - 6y = -5y and -9 - 7 = -16

8c) Here only terms with the same powers combine.

In [tex]2x^2 + 7x + 4x^2 + x[/tex], the [tex]x^2[/tex]'s are the like terms, while the ones with out the exponents are like terms:

    [tex]2x^2 + 7x + 4x^2 + x = 6x^2 + 8x[/tex]

8d) Similar to 8c, can you try this one on your own?

8e) It doesn't matter how many terms there are, you still just combine like terms.

    3k - 5 + 8 - k + 1 - 4k = -2k + 4

8f) Can you try this one on your own?  Remember numbers without variables are not like terms with [tex]u[/tex]'s and those are not like terms with [tex]u^2[/tex]'s.

9a) The concept is still the same, but remember that like terms must have the same variables and those variables must have the same exponents.  [tex]ab^2[/tex] is not a like term with [tex]ab[/tex] or [tex]a^2b[/tex].

[tex]2a^2 - 3ab-6+4b^2+7+5ab-3b-2a^2 = 4b^2+2ab-3b+1[/tex]

9b) [tex]3mn + 6m^2 - n^2 +3 -m^2 -3mn + 2n^2-4 =5m^2+n^2-1[/tex]
