A philosophy question, what do you think makes a reason for believing something a good reason or a bad reason? In other words, if I have a reason for believing something is true, when would that reason be a good one and when would it be a bad one?

Answer:

Justified True Belief.

An individual has a reason for believing something is true only if it is justified with evidence. However, there is some deviation to truth because something a person might believe as true, might not be true for another person. In other words, if a person believes that their reason is justified, it does not mean it is true.
