While the Orson Welles version changes many elements that were in the original story of The War of the Worlds, he kept one of the main themes from the book. Which of the following themes is present in both the book and the radio play of The War of the Worlds?

A. We are self–centered and should not assume we know everything.
B. We are vulnerable to attack from those who are different from us.
C. We never know what might happen in the future.
D. We know all we can about our universe.

Respuesta :

A is the correct answer
B is wrong. I repeat. B is wrong.

Orson's version is not about how vulnerable we are to attacks and it certainly was not about the uncertainty of the future, since it could be a theme for anything, really. His version certainly did not state that we know all that we need about the universe since not knowing was one of the reasons for panicking. What Orson made brilliantly, keeping it faithful to the original material, was to show humanity how self centered we are and how little we actually know.

A. We are self–centered and should not assume we know everything.
