food webs are different than food chains because a food web is an area of the residents/ organisms living in an area. Example:
The forest of Connecticut has a food web of all of the below in the order they go in;
Decomposers: Mushrooms, fungi, bacteria.
Producers: Plants, trees etc.
Consumers: Mice, Squirrels, birds.
Secondary consumers: Snakes, Owls.
Primary consumers that eat the secondary consumers: Wolfs, Coyotes, vaulters.
Scavengers: they eat the remains of the carcass of the Primary consumers.
Then the food web starts over, unlike a Food chain that shows all of the animals in one country or state that shows every step and gets way too complicated and misses some important details. Hope this helps :D
