Answer;
-B. Water would move into the body cells of the fish
Explanation;
-
In a hypotonic solution the total molar concentration of all dissolved solute particles is less than that of another solution or less than that of a cell.In a hypertonic solution the total molar concentration of all dissolved solute particles is greater than that of another solution, or greater than the concentration in a cell. Lastly, when two environments are isotonic, the total molar concentration of dissolved solutes is the same in both of them.
Therefore; when fish from sea water are placed in a fresh water environment, they will absorb water osmotically and burst. This is explained by the fact that they become hypertonic to the fresh water thus their cells take in more water, which makes them burst.
