To simplify fraction you make them the numerator and denominator not able to divide by the same number. An example is 4/20 you can divide both by 2 which equals 2/10 and you can also divide both by 2 which will equal 1/5 because they both can't be divided by the same number (except 1 and a non-whole number) that is what 4/20 is simplified to.
Find the greatest common factor and work from there. For example: [tex] \frac{25}{50} [/tex] has a gcf of 25 (25 is the biggest number that can be divided by) so divide 25 and 25 to get 1 and 50 and 25 to get 2 which equals to 1/2.
Or, if there is a fraction like [tex] \frac{10}{20} [/tex] , just cross the 0's off.
Hope this helps! :)
