This particular quotation from Act 3 Scene 1 Line 63 of Shakespeare's Macbeth reveals Macbeth's thoughts of power and his plan for Banquo in the following ways:

1. Macbeth considered that he had been given a fruitless kingship.

2. Macbeth considered that the kingship he had inherited would not be passed to his lineage.  This is why he considered it "fruitless" since no son of his would succeed him.

3. The sons and lineage of Banquo will become kings after him.

4. The thought of inheriting a "fruitless" kingship disturbed him greatly.

5. He contemplated how to stop the lineage of kings continuing with the family of Banquo.

6.  The best solution, he discovered, was to arrange the murder of Banquo and his son, Fleance, so that the prophecy of the witches would come to nothing with regard to Banquo.

Thus, Macbeth showed his great love of power and his selfish love of power for himself and his lineage.
