Colonial governments were representatives in many ways, some of them include:

  • The formation of the Mayflower Compact was signed by the 41 true pilgrims to provide just laws for all the residents.
  • The formation of the House of Burgess, which comprises the Governors and his councils and the representative from the different areas. They come together to make decisions on behalf of Virginia
  • Formation of Country government whereby the Sheriff and Justice of peace combined to make decisions on behalf of the county.

The 3 examples of how colonial governments were representatives are:
