Mrs. Tuff is now insistent that Tommy sits in her lap and as she speaks to Tommy he begins to cry more and refuses to open his mouth. Mrs. Tuff continues to tell Tommy that it won't hurt and if he only opens his mouth, he will get a toy. What steps can you take now to get Tommy to cooperate?

Tommy is a young boy and is feeling afraid to open his mouth and show it to Mrs. Tuff. Something had stuck into his mouth and he is finding it difficult to eat anything and it is paining a lot.

Mrs. Tuff is insisting tommy to sit on her lap so that she could examine him but he refuses to open his mouth and cries loudly. I told Tommy that it is for his own good and he should listen to Mrs. Tuff and open his mouth so that Mrs. Tuff could treat him. By this Tommy will get relief from his pain and he will better.

I also insisted Tommy to open his mouth as it will cause him any pain. I gave something to Tommy so he can get distracted and open his mouth. Mrs. Tuff also told him that he will get a toy if he opens his mouth.
