Answer:
The energy in a forest ecosystem (and all other ecosystems) comes from the sun. There are three main types of organisms that energy flows through – producers, consumers, and decomposers. Plants are producers. Even though the sun provides energy to the forest, only plants can use that energy.
Forest Ecosystem is a functional niche of nature in which the living things like trees, animals and insects interact with each other and its surroundings .
It includes soil which is the flora and fauna and other living organism as mentioned above. There are also biotic and abiotic components that are involved in the process of sustainability.
The energy flow of such ecosystem is through single direction where, the plants absorb heat in the form of solar energy through the process called photosynthesis thus acting as producers. The energy is then transferred to primary consumers which are herbivores.
These animals are eaten by another animals acting as secondary consumers. The tiny organisms then decompose the dead animals and plants creating a rich soil for development of new species.
