Now, piggy represented technology and advancement (since he was smart and had the glasses that supplied everyone with fire), he died with no one in Jacks side truly caring about the death of a human being. With all this stated, Golding portrayed the end of Simon and Piggy as symbolism on how the boys lost his civilized self's each day at the island.
