Explain why Ben comes to realize that friendship is a give-and-take relationship that benefits both people involved. Use details from the story to support your answer.

Friendship cannot only work one way as then one person is going to feel more isolated and eventually will give up trying. ‘I liked and trusted him’ this shows that Ben has created a good friendship. Friendship requires trust and this is part of the ‘give and take’ relationship:)
