Starch is the most common carbohydrate that is found in the leaves of green plants. Describe a test that the students could do in the laboratory to investigate whether starch is present in the leaves of seedlings.
Add an iodine solution to the leaves, the color will be yellow or brown at first but if it changes to a blue or black that means there is starch present, hope that helps! :)
