The Himalayas are still rising by more than 1 cm per year as India continues to move northwards... Also, almost 2500 km of land was shaved off the Indian plates landmass as a huge amount of crustal shortening would have occurred in both the Eurasian and Indian plates.
The tectonic plates on earth are co Stanton shifting and moving, meaning that the Himalayas will always be growing. To put it simply, the earths crusts push into each other to create mountains.
