N this circuit, the source supplies 6 V and one of the resistors is 2 Ohms. What is the power generated by the second resistor?

Explanation:

well,  this question makes it sound like the resistor makes power.  which it isn't.  Power could be taken as a wattage ... and that could be taken as a voltage times a current.

This just makes it confusing.  to say it that way.

if this is the way the prof.  put the question ask him if he knows what he's talking about b/c the questions is not correct.  Power isn't from resistance.

so the first resistor is 2 ohms is going to drop some voltage, but.  voltage = resistance *  current or  V= RI .. usually written as  V= IR   soooo.  Your question gives the voltage and the resistance of one resistor but states there is another.  To find the current (I) we need the total resistance in the circuit.  current is the same all the way around the circuit.  So your question doesn't give all the info.   Power = Voltage *  Current

P = VI

or

P =R[tex]i^{2}[/tex]

You don't have enough info to solve this problem,   :/
