The bill of rights was added to the constitution because of the disagreements with the federalists and anti federalists the anti federalists wanted the bill of rights to fully protect the rights of every American from being violated and government becoming corrupt and adding absurd taxes on them the bill of rights was added in an effort to basically stop congress from becoming British parliament
