Sometime too hot the eye of heaven shines,
And often is his gold complexion dimm'd,
And every fair from fair sometime declines,
By chance, or nature's changing course untrimm'd:

Which is the correct rhyme scheme for this stanza?

aabb
abcd
abab
abcc

Respuesta :

I’d go with abab... the letters represent rhymes I believe so if you check which words rhyme:

Line 1– “shines”
Line 2– “dimmed”
Line 3– “declines”
Line 4– “untrimmed”

Lines 1 & 3 rhyme, and lines 2 & 4 rhyme. So if each sound / rhyme is a letter, the things that are/rhyme with “shines” would be a, the things that are/rhyme with “dimmed” would be b; then the lines would go:

1- a
2- b
3- a
4- b

Not an expert at this sort of stuff but I think this is right, hope this helps :)
