born free and lived free, then was kidnapped into slavery where he remained for twelve years
before he was rescued. The narrative was truly written from the perspective of an outsider
having to live as an insider for sheer survival. In your opinion, how might this narrative have
been different if it had been written by someone who had been born a slave, and the life of a
slave is all he or she ever knew? Regarding common occurrences surrounding slavery, such
as whippings, what might the different perspectives be? (5 points)
