Let the temperature at 10am be x, then
x + 8 = 56
x = 56 - 8 = 48 degrees F

Let y be the temperature at 8am, then
y - 2 = 48
y = 48 + 2 = 50 degrees.
Ok so start with your 12:00 temperature: 56° F. You know that the 10:00 temp. was 8 degrees less than 56so:56°-8°=48°your 10:00 temp.=48°Now you know that the 8:00 temp was 2° warmer than your 10:00 temp. which was 48°simply: 48+2=50°your 8:00 temp. was 50°
