Note: This question needs practical measurements so I am going to use my clock at home. Otherwise, you can measure the clock at your house and work out.
the diameter of the clock= 30 cm
the radius of the clock= 15 cm
(a) the area of the clock is
[tex]\pi r^{2} = 3.14 \times 15^{2} = 706.5 \: cm^{2} [/tex]
(b) The length of the minute hand covered in one hour is equal to the circumference of the clock.
The circumference of the clock is
[tex]2\pi \times radius = 2 \times 3.14 \times 15 = 94.2 \: cm[/tex]
