Private businesses are motivated by profit and media companies privately owned are no exception. They might only cover stories that will increase their viewership.

Answer: privatley owned media sources are controlled by themselves and not told what to show by government officials so private media sources can release all the news that you might not be getting with public media sources that are controled by the government so its just more of a free place to post the truth of what is all going on that the public media sources won't
