Answer:

North Macedonia is a developing country in Europe, having an aging population, birthrates that go down, and death rates that go up.

Explanation:

North Macedonia is a country located in southeastern Europe, on the Balkan Peninsula. Now I chose this country because it is an interesting case because it is the country that has not made a census for the longest time in the world, but also because the information, evidence-based and political based greatly differ when it comes to its population.

If taken into account the information from all of the institutions that have data about the population, the country has 1.62 million people. This means that the country has lost roughly 20% of its population since 2002, in just 18 years. The birthrates have gradually been going down, and while they are still enough to make the country's population grow, the migration out of it is larger so the population drops. The death rates have been also increasing, as there is more and more old population, and since the life expectancy is not that high, it didn't take much time for it to have a big impact.

If taken into account the information from the political parties, the country has 2.15 million people. It is one of the three countries in Europe that have positive demographic trends (plus Kosovo), with the population growing, and birthrates being stable. I will not get into the politics of this because it is too big of a theme, but one fact is that the political parties incorporate into the country's population all the people that have been born in the country since its independence and have a nationality, despite not living in the country for years or decades.
