The media is bound to be biased because it is produced by humans.
Some newspapers and magazines have clear positions on what they think in their editorials, which facilitates the reader's assessment. However, most media outlets adopt an impartial stance, and create protocols for journalism to be produced in the most open way possible.
However, journalism is produced by human beings who have their own tastes, preferences and particular world view, so that as free as they are, it is only natural that some traces of their perceptions are transmitted to the texts, even subconsciously.
