The French and Indian war was a very costly war for Britain. The British decided to place the Stamp Act (tax on all paper goods) upon the colonies creating friction between the colonies and Britain. People in the colonies used mob violence against British officials in order for the British to repeal the Stamp Act, which it later was, but things only continued with more taxes some years later.

There are different reasons why the French and Indian went to War. The French and Indian War draw colonists closer together but increase friction with Britain  due to the intolerable acts and the Boston Massacre.

The French and Indian War took at least nine years' war between 1754 and 1763.The war was between France and Great Britain to get control of the vast colonial territory of North America.

The French and Indian War was brought to an end with the Treaty of Paris in 1763. The war gave Great Britain large territorial gains in North America, but issues over the frontier policy and paying the war's expenses led to colonial discontent.
