First, Thomas Paine was an English-American Political theorist, and published his book "The American crisis" in 1777 during the American Revolution.
He explains how the tyranny in England affected America, by taxing the Americans in every single situation, and that the British have forced the Americans to do whatever the UK want: The Americans became slaves of the British. He says that the Americans have the right to rebel because the government have failed to protect the rights and liberties of the Americans, since the British government is obviously trying to abolish every single right.
