What we wanna do is flip this equation. Assuming we are solving for x

Add 9/5 to both sides!
[tex] \frac{3}{5}x + \frac{-9}{5} + \frac{9}{5} = y + 1 + \frac{9}{5} \frac{3}{5}x = y + \frac{14}{5} [/tex]
Then we wanna divide both sides by 3/5
[tex] \frac{3}{5}x/ \frac{3}{5} = y + \frac{14}{5}/ \frac{3}{5} x = \frac{5y + 14}{3} [/tex]
