Have you ever hear that no two fingerprints are alike? Each fingerprint is made up of a pattern of ridges. That vary in number, size, and location. They're are three basic patterns of fingerprints: loops, whirls, and arches. The more commonly occurring of the three pattern is the loop. A loop must have one ridge that enters from one side, curves around and exits from the opposite side. Whorls involve ridges that curve in a circular pattern. The arch the least common pattern is formed by ridges that enter from one side, rose in the middle, and then exit.
