The relationship between phenotype, genotype, and the environment is:
Phenotype (P) = Genotype (G) + Environment (E)
Phenotype is a set of observable traits, such as height, eye color, and blood type.
Genotype is the set of genetic material contributed to the phenotype.
Genotype remains constant from one environment to another although sometimes it may change. However, when the same genotype is subjected to different environments it can lead to a variation of phenotypes.
