The american dream is the pursue of prosperity and success, so I believe that money is quite important. Many see the "American Dream", as owning a nice house in a safe neighborhood with a loving family and being able to sustain a relativly wealthy lifestyle. With this said I believe that, USA, being a capitalist country requires its people to have a certain amount of income in order to persue "the Dream".
