This was just an example, but later on, she learns from Atticus not to attack someone who threatens her. Later on in the book, Cecil Jacobs was calling Atticus names, she kept telling him to take those names back, but he kept insulting him. She decided to just turn away and not resort to violence cause she knew that's what Atticus would've wanted.
