Passive transport moves molecules and ions from a higher concentration to a lower concentration without any energy while active transport does the same thing only it uses energy. Osmosis deals with the net movement of solvent molecules through a membrane with a higher solute concentration. Osmosis and active transport both work together, while osmosis does its own movement the active transport moves the dissolved solutes across a membrane against a concentration gradient.
Active transport and passive transport are almost the same they function the same only one doesn't require energy while the other one does. Hence why active transport and osmosis work well together it's because of the energy that helps transport dissolved solutes.
