Even though we have extensive scientific knowledge, superstitions persist in our culture. Sometimes people believe in them, and other times they follow them out of habit. Discuss some superstitions that you still uphold.

A superstition that guides my behavior is knocking a salt shaker over at the dinner table and spilling it. Whenever this happens I have to immediately pick up the salt shaker and throw some over my left shoulder to prevent bad luck. Another superstition I can relate back to is four-leaf clovers. When I was younger I would always look for four-leaf clovers in the grass because I had always been told if I carried one around, I would have the ability to see fairies.
