New Mexico should implement the following reforms:
1. Border Security
2. Worksite Enforcements
3. Guest Worker Program
4. Naturalization Process
As of now, in New Mexico, about 40% of the state’s illegal immigrants are expected to benefit from President Obama’s executive
order. Under the policy, nearly half the nation’s illegal immigrants
will be eligible for temporary legal status and work permits if they
meet certain criteria and pay a fee.
The order also helps undocumented
immigrants who have been in the U.S. for five years and have children
that were born here as American citizens. The executive order will allow
high-tech workers and foreign students in stem-courses to stay longer.
