when quoting someone it is always required to put their name in parenthesis and the page at which you found it. This would be incorrect 

The citation "found that prolonged exposure to sun can cause skin cancer (smith 49.)" is incorrect.

A citation shows the reader where you found the information added in a work.  Citations may be included in the body when you’re paraphrasing another individual’s information.
