We want to find all the solutions to the equation [tex]f(x)=0[/tex]. Wich means that we want to find all values of [tex]x[/tex] such that [tex]y=0[/tex] (recall f(x)=y).
By looking at the graph, when does [tex]y=0[/tex]? That's right, exactly over the X axis!
The solutions to the equation are the X coordinates where the graph crosses the X axis.
They are -5,-2 and 4.
