• Odilia and her sisters find a half dead man on the shore of the beach and decides to help him find his way home, in Mexico, leaving their faily behind to help a man they barely knew.

According to the events in the book, Odilia and her four sisters are living a very normal life with the rest of their family in Texas until  one evening when they find the body of a man whom they initially assumed to be dead, on the shores of their local beach.

This book mirrors the epic poem The Odyssey by Homer as they face various perils, supernatural beings and unimaginable dangers on their way to getting the man back to his home in Mexico.
