Thank you for your question.  Firstly he believed in predestination which was against Church preachings. He argued for a greater role for the lay person as opposed to the clergy. He believed that the clergy should be poor as in the days of the disciples and the state should take over property. Finally, he believed that the Bible should be translated into English and other common languages so that people could read it. For these reasons, he was known as the "morning star" of the Reformation.
