Answer: Evolution is considered to be a scientific theory because evolution is not proven true of false, although it is widely recognized as true. A theory is defined as "a system of ideas intended to explain something, especially one based on general principles independent of the thing to be explained", meaning that it is the compliation of a certain ideas in hopes of proving something as true. The theory of evolution is the use of facts to try to explain how species have evolved over time. We have been unable to prove evolution as it occurs in front of us, but we can use evidence to support this theory.
