I don't know if this is a question from your school, or if this is a philosophical question that you actually want to know what people think. But here's my opinion:
Currently, humanity is nowhere near a singularity, or the "dream/proposition" as you say, we have a lot to learn and have so much more to be focused on first. I think a societal singularity is possible, but humans have to learn how to get along, have to learn how to actually listen to one and other no matter how much money and/or power sways you to betray your allies or colleagues. Fist off, we as humans have to forget about boundaries, we have to forget about "oh, these people are famous, let's make then queens and kings." I feel like once we accomplish this, then information kept secret by boundaries and government will be more widely available, allowing us to stop world-ending things much faster, such as global warming.
